Meet Our Staff
Charles Hatcher - Senior Pastor
I had the privilege of growing up in a Christian home with godly, faithful parents. When I was six years old, my Pastor, Dr. Jim Blalock, preached about Heaven and how only those who knew Jesus Christ as their personal Savior would go there. That night I realized for the first time that I was a sinner, and I trusted Christ as my Savior the next evening at home.
When I was twelve years old the Lord called me to preach, and I surrendered my life to His service. The Lord led me to Crown College in Powell, TN, where I graduated in 2005 with a bachelor’s degree in pastoral ministry and again in 2006 with a master’s of ministry. I met my wife in school, and we were married in 2007.
The Lord has allowed us to be in fulltime ministry since 2006, and have been serving at Neuse since March of 2019. We are grateful for the 3 children that God has given us, Abigail, James, and Timothy. Our family counts it a privilege to be part of the Neuse family, and is looking forward to what God has for us in the future here.
Bric Bolin - Associate Pastor
Suzan and I were both reared in ministry homes. At the age of 8 I accepted Christ as my personal Savior while attending the Camp of the Ozarks. Suzan began her walk with Christ at the age of 11 when, following a Lord's Supper service, one of the Deacons of the church took her aside and lead her to a saving knowledge of Christ.
Accepting the call of God, Suzan and I began our lives of service as students at Baptist Bible College where we met and were married on August 2, 1986. After completing our student teaching and graduating in 1988, we went forth to serve and have served in Indiana, Michigan, Oklahoma, Kansas and Illinois. On August 1, 2013 we moved to Raleigh, North Carolina to join Neuse as their Associate Pastor, working with the music ministry.
Suzan and I have 4 children: Tyler is married to his High School sweetheart, Sarah and they live in Chicago, IL with our three grandchildren, Maggie, Baker and Judah; Meganne lives in Raleigh teaching Preschool; Caleb is married to Alexis and living in Indianapolis, IN and Devin is training to be a Raleigh Police Officer.
We are happy to be at Neuse Baptist Church and looking forward to many more years of service.
Kevin Zander - Youth Pastor
At the age of 8, the Lord revealed His plan for me. I obeyed the call from the Holy Spirit and was saved at a vacation bible school in my hometown of Westminster, MD.
My life thereafter was changed, but with little discipleship, I never really understood what God wanted from me in life. I kept searching until the Lord introduced me to my future wife. Alana grew up in a Baptist church, and the first time I visited church with her, the Lord took hold of my life in a glorious way. With the Lord's grace and a servant's heart I began to grow in my spiritual relationship with God. I surrounded myself with Godly examples and spiritual leaders, and I soaked up as much as I could from local new-testament Bible believing Baptist churches.
In 2009 the Lord revealed a new purpose: to show today's youth what I was searching for so many years ago. I accepted the Youth Director position at Neuse, and with the help from my wife have encouraged our youth in the loving relationship we have in Jesus Christ, teaching the truth of God's commandments in a world filled with the Devil's ploys.
Alana and I were married in 2002, and God has blessed us with two beautiful children Carter and Ava.
Kay Hill, Sr. - Director of Missions
I trusted Christ as my Savior on November 11, 1944 in Saint Joseph, Missouri. I am a graduate of Baptist Bible College in Springfield, Missouri, class of 1955. My wife, Venica, and I celebrated our fiftieth wedding aniversary in 2003. We are the parents of twin sons, Kay and Clay.
I am a fourth generation cabinetmaker. We have a family business, Kay & Sons Woodworks, which I founded in 1972. My sons are currently running the business, providing me the opportunity to travel to Baptist churches all over America, motivating them to do more for missions.
It has been my pleasure to serve the Lord as music director of Neuse Baptist Church for forty-eight years. Additionally, I have served as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. In 1969, I was inspired by the musical presentation, "So Send I You". As a result, I committed to aid missionaries in their efforts to reach their field.
I have been involved in Faith Promise Giving for forty-seven years. As a layman, it is my burden to challenge others in the joy of giving. The Lord has opened many doors over the years to share this burden. My desire is to spend the rest of my life encouraging churches to see the need of sending others around the world to share the Gospel. I have visited the mission fields of the Philippines, Japan, Hong Kong, and Mexico. I've also had the opportunity to assist in the building of several churches. I have spoken in mission conferences all over the United States and in the Philippines.
Please prayerfully consider allowing me the opportunity to share with your congregation the joy of mission giving and sending.
